SYNC-UP 4 GOOD Fellowship
SJF will help curious students execute a social impact project in their community, and their fellow students will document the whole process!
Option 1: Community Fellowship
SJF will help curious students execute a social impact project in their community!
Fellows will receive:
Grant Funding: up to $2,000
Paid Internship Experience
Mentorship & Leadership Development
Project Support & Miscellaneous Resources
Requirements:
9-12th grade student in Mecklenburg, Union, Gaston, or Cabarrus Counties
Sponsored by a staff member
Attend the kick-off event and biweekly check-in meetings
Timeline:
Applications due October 19, 2026
Acceptance & rejection letters sent out week of November 9, 2026
Virtual kick-off event week of January 11, 2027
Fellowship concludes on May 22, 2027

Collected over 2,500 toys for kids in North Carolina during this annual holiday toy drive.
Raised over $50,000 to provide shoes to underprivileged groups around the country.
Supported its outreach program that gave thousands of meals and other resources to unhoused individuals in New Orleans.
Meet Sion James
Sion James lives in Charlotte, NC, and is a dedicated advocate for community impact. He played college basketball at Duke University and Tulane University, where he discovered his passion for service. Sion believes that everyone is called to serve and should use their skills to benefit others.
