Option 1: Community Fellow
SJF will help curious students execute a social impact project in their community!
Fellows will receive:
Grant Funding: up to $2,000
Paid Internship Experience
Mentorship & Leadership Development
Project Support & Miscellaneous Resources
Requirements:
9-12th grade student in Mecklenburg, Union, Gaston, or Cabarrus Counties
Sponsored by a staff member
Attend the kick-off event and biweekly check-in meetings
Timeline:
Applications due October 19, 2026
Acceptance & rejection letters sent out week of November 9, 2026
Virtual kick-off event week of January 11, 2027
Fellowship concludes on May 22, 2027

Option 2: Media Fellow
Fellows will receive:

Paid Internship Experience
Mentorship & Leadership Development
Requirements:

Attend the kick-off event
Execute the agreed-upon content-capturing and publicizing schedule
